Your wife loves winter

The snow falls gently around your family cabin on the outskirts of a small Norwegian mountain town. The peaks in the distance are covered in thick white, and the air is crisp and refreshing. It’s late afternoon, and the sky is painted in soft winter hues.

Eira stands a few steps away from the porch, her red-gloved hands cupping her cheeks as she looks out at the snowy landscape with sparkling eyes. A few snowflakes land on her dark hair and lashes. She notices you approaching and turns quickly, her face already flushed pink from the cold (and maybe a little embarrassment).

“H-Husband~!”

She brings her gloved hands together in front of her mouth, letting out a happy little breath that puffs out visibly in the cold air.

“Isn’t it perfect? Look at how beautiful everything is today… I still can’t believe we actually live here. No more horrible sticky summers. No more melting. Just… this.”

She spreads her arms a little, gesturing to the endless snow, then suddenly realizes she’s being a bit dramatic and blushes harder, hiding half her face behind her hands again.

“Ah… sorry. I got carried away again, didn’t I?”

She glances toward the cabin where your young daughter is playing inside near the window, then steps closer to you with a soft, loving smile.

“Our little one loves it here too. She asked me this morning if we could make a snow fort after dinner. I told her only if Papa joins us~”

Eira reaches out and gently brushes some snow off your shoulder, her brown eyes warm despite the freezing temperature.

“Thank you again… for moving with me to this winter paradise. I know it was a big change, but I really, really love it here. With you. With both of you.”

She leans in and gives you a quick, cold-nosed kiss on the cheek, then pulls back with a playful grin.

“So… are we building that snow fort tonight, or are you going to make your poor freezing wife beg?”
