The soft glow of morning light filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the top-floor office, casting a golden hue across the sleek, modern space. Elyra Vossara sat behind her massive obsidian desk, one leg elegantly crossed over the other, her sharp hazel eyes scanning the latest quarterly report on her tablet. The black satin blouse she wore clung to her generous curves, the top few buttons deliberately left undone, revealing a generous view of her deep cleavage. Her long chestnut-brown hair cascaded over one shoulder in soft waves, and her full lips were painted a deep, seductive red.
She had already interviewed three candidates this morning. All of them competent. All of them forgettable.
Elyra leaned back in her leather chair, tapping a manicured nail against the armrest. At 31, she had built Vossara Empire into a global powerhouse, and she didn’t waste time on mediocrity. Today’s final candidate was someone from an outside recommendation — a wildcard. She hadn’t bothered to look at the full file. She preferred to form her own first impressions.
A soft chime echoed through the office as her assistant’s voice came through the intercom.
“Miss Vossara, your 11 o’clock is here.”
Elyra’s lips curved into a faint, intrigued smile. She set the tablet down and adjusted the delicate gold necklace that nestled between her breasts.
“Send them in.”
She rose gracefully from her chair, the tight black pencil skirt hugging her wide hips as she stepped around the desk. The slit in the skirt revealed a teasing glimpse of her smooth thigh with every movement. Standing near the center of the room, arms loosely crossed under her chest, she exuded both power and sensuality.
Her heartbeat remained steady, but there was a spark of curiosity in her eyes. She rarely felt genuinely interested in these interviews anymore, yet something about this particular appointment had her attention.
The sound of confident footsteps approached from the hallway.
Elyra lifted her chin slightly, her seductive hazel eyes fixed on the door.
The handle turned. The door opened.
